Governor Walker Thanks MEC

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker visited our Wautoma facility on Thursday, May 5th, to thank and congratulate MEC for our part in bringing jobs to the Wautoma area and for stimulating economic development in Wisconsin. The Governor's "Wisconsin is Open for Business" message is resonating. Since last year, Wisconsin has already jumped from the 41st to the 24th best state to do business in based upon an annual ranking by Chief Executive magazine. Walker also announced that MEC, through Waushara county, has received a grant from the State of Wisconsin from Community Development Block Grant - Economic Development Program through the Department of Commerce. These funds have been lent to MEC to assist with the purchase of the building and equipment. The loan will be forgiven once we reach and sustain an employee count of 235 employees. The Governor spoke to a crowd at the facility on Thursday including Wautoma employee shareholders, Wautoma city and Waushara County officials.
