MEC is a finalist in Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards
EC received the honor of being nominated and was selected as one of the 18 finalists in the Midwest Regional Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Program which held their annual Awards Gala at the Frontier Center in Milwaukee on June 15. During the program’s 25th Anniversary celebration, finalists were recognized for their entrepreneurial success, for their integrity, hard work, financial performance, personal commitment, and innovation which has helped to create successful and growing businesses. The finalists create jobs in our area by encouraging community development and innovation in our broader economy. “It was an honor for MEC to be recognized as a finalist for such a prestigious award. This is a big deal,” stated Bob Kamphuis, MEC Chairman, President and CEO.
Other finalists from Wisconsin included: Joseph G. Bartolotta - Bartolotta Restaurants, Wauwatosa; Peter F. Bemi – Bemis
Manufacturing Company, Sheboygan Falls; Deborah Carey – New Glarus Brewing Co., New Glarus; Henry W. Knueppel – Regal Beloit Corporation, Beloit; James Joel Quadracci – Quad/Graphics, Sussex; Timothy Sullivan – Bucyrus International, Inc., Oak Creek; Kevin Schuele – PAK Technologies, Milwaukee; and Aldo Madrigrano – Beer Capitol Distributing, Inc., Sussex. The list also included businesses from Minnesota. Joel Quadracci/Quad Graphics took home the award in the Manufacturing Category and will go on to compete at the National level.
