Mark Luebke Receives a Lean Six Sigma Project Completion Plaque

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt project was presented at the monthly CI steering committee meeting on December 16, 2009 by Mark Luebke. This project targeted air brake tolerancing to aid in our ability to determine the correct form processing and to determine if tooling reductions can be made.
Mark's team was able to perform capability studies on specific air bending material type/thickness combinations that will be used to make future tooling decisions. Additional material types/thinckesses will be added to the study with a future matrix created that would further define tolerance limitations.
The goal of this study is to reduce the amount of dedicated brake die tooling quoted and built by 25% from 2009 Estimates indicate that 30% fewer angle cut dies were produced from 2009.
