Mayville Engineering Company, Inc., Earns Top Recognition from Deere & Company

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. (MEC) is proud to have earned recognition as a Partner-level Supplier for 2009 in John Deere’s Achieving Excellence Award Program. The Partner-level status is Deere & Company’s highest supplier rating and MEC is part of a very select group to receive this distinction. MEC was selected for the honor in recognition for its dedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement. Robert D. Kamphuis, MEC’s Chairman, President & CEO and Thomas J. Verbos, Vice President & General Manager of MEC’s Contract and Prototype divisions, accepted the recognition for the Company during a formal presentation in Davenport, Iowa.
MEC was also presented with the J.D. Crop Division Award for Outstanding Suggestion Performance. This award recognizes suppliers who bring value added ideas to the table in order to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
“John Deere is a very valued customer”, commented Kamphuis. “These awards are a direct result of our team creating value in order to help our customer succeed. This recognition really means a lot to us because the criteria very closely mirrors our mission statement which we strive to live by every day.”
Suppliers who participate in the Achieving Excellence program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support, and wavelength, which is a measure of responsiveness. John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes continuous improvement.
